Line (Qamar) is an active member and dancer of Baladi et danses de l’Orient : Tywalline. Line has been a Tywalline dancer since it’s creation in 1999 but also serves as the treasurer for the company and cultural researcher.
She is a multidisciplinary artist and her talents and passions include design and costume creation, artistic make-up, henna tattoo, drawing and painting.
Even though she enjoys dancing with as a group, duo or trio with her fellow Tywalline friends, her true satisfaction and pleasure comes when she is performing as a soloist. She is appreciated for her strong presence on stage, her amusing complicity with the audience and her charismatic smile.
Qamar has attended many workshops including some with Hakim (Montreal), Aziza (Montreal), Azhia (Montreal), Caroline Labrie (Victoriaville), Magdy El-Leisy (Germany), Mo Geddawi (Germany), Nawal Benabdallah (France), Sameh El Dessouky (Russia), Noor (Morocco), Momo Kaddous (Egypt), Raqia Hassan (Egypt), Farida Fahmy (Egypt), Mahmoud Reda (Egypt), Farouk Moustafa (Egypt), El Sayed (Egypt).
With the help of the web, she is very active in the international oriental dancing community. Qamar appreciates the enriching conversations and exchanges which keep her in touch with friends from around the world that share the same passion. She is also a member of several discussion forums, including the Bhuz.com since November 2007. Her four star status has officially made her an “Advanced BHUZzer”.
