Lubna

  Lubna Shawwa, dancer and coach

Originally from the Middle East (a Palestinian born Jordan), Lubna has loved the music and dancing of her culture ever since she was a little girl. It has always been a part of her life, whether at special occasions or in the company of friends at simple gatherings. While living in the United Arab Emirates, she participated in yearly folkloric dance shows in which she performed many different types of dances, primarily Lebanese Dabkeh and Khaliji. Lubna joined Tywalline in 2006 through which she has continued to express her passion for oriental dancing. Since joining the wonderful group, she has had the chance to attend a workshop with Dina in Montreal, and will continue to attend as many other sessions as possible in order to expand her different techniques.

Lubna's love of dance and her ability to connect to the music has given her the ability to quickly learn and retain choreographies, which has become an asset when participating in our group practices.

In addition, she has formed a strong connection with the other members of Tywalline and sees them as her dancing family.
