Fouzia

  Fouzia, dancer

Indulged with Arabic music and Moroccan culture due to her origins, Fouzia has always loved music and dance through its various forms. Her experiences have journeyed her from jazz to flamenco and finally brought her to oriental dance. Her enthusiasm for this dance has since transformed itself from true passion to a profession.

With persistence, Fouzia is continuously enriching her learning for this dance. In order to perfect herself and improve her technique/style, she regularly participates in workshops from around the world given by such dance masters as: Mahmoud Reda, Farida Fahmy, Randa Kamel, Dina, Fifi Abdou, Nagwa Fouad, Mo Geddawi, Magdy El Leisy, Aziza, Hadia etc

In 2006, she travelled to Egypt for a dance seminar dedicated to both professional dancers and teachers. This trip had an immense impact on her not only because she met two Oriental dance legends but also because she discovered Egypt and the essence of Egyptian dance.

Fouzia teaches oriental dance since September 2003 in various sports centres and dance studios around Montreal. She organized the first edition of her annual show “Passion en Action” in May 2009 and in January 2010, along with two associates, she produced “Taksim”, the first oriental dance DVD in Quebec.
