Chaïma

  Chantal Gosselin, dancer

Following 10 years of formal ballet training and a brief stint in theatre, her need to move brought her to explore new horizons. In 2001, this young woman's love for dance meets the wonderful sounds of the Middle East, giving her the perfect media to break away and express herself in a joyful atmosphere. Chantal (Chaïma) became a member of Baladi et danses de l’Orient: Tywalline in 2004.

Within the company, she totally commits herself as a dancer and seamstress. She also actively promotes the company's visibility by making and distributing publicity for special events.

In her eyes, nothing is as thrilling as the smiles on the faces of people watching her dance, smiles she graciously returns throughout her performances. For her, all occasions to dance are welcomed enthusiastically and she enjoys performing either for public or private events.

As for her training, Chantal took part in two courses given by Noor (Morocco), in a Tanoura workshop with El Sayed (Egypt) and she took part in the 2nd Cairo Seminar for Teachers and Professional dancers, directed by Mahmoud Reda and Farida Fahmy. Of cours, she intends to keep learning and improving in the future.
